Elmhurst 13 v. New Life Chicago 10
Wheeling Fields

It was a tight game, both teams striving to break into the win column. New Life opened up with a good lead for the first five innings, 10 to 6 but the defense came all apart in the top of the 6th (last inning.) Balls dropping everywhere, missed throws, when it was all over 7 guys crossed home. There was still a chance to retake the lead in the game for New Life but the bats weren’t working as we kept on grounding out. Tough loss but a good win for Elmhurst.

Evergreen 7 v. New Life Chicago 12
Wheeling Fields

After half the New Life team left (okay more like three) things looked down for our second game we brought in a girl to replace three guys. Boy was that a smart move. Annie Lee had a hit, a BB and a Sacrifice grounder (if there is a such thing), and was a great catcher (okay the pitcher had to pick up most of the balls off the ground.) The game was close again and New Life took an early lead, question was could they hold onto it. We tighten up and kept the defense good enough and pulled out enough runs early to hold on for the win.
